The Pan Arab Human Genetics Conference (PAHGC) is a biennial event organized by CAGS. This event provides a common platform to bring together regional and international geneticists to share their knowledge and to discuss common issues. Undoubtedly, the organization of this conference series has been a huge contribution of CAGS towards the study of human genetics in the region and this conference has become one of the most awaited events in the calendar of human genetics. The value of such an event is not limited to its role in augmenting high quality genetic research in a number of developing countries, but also in inspiring more and more young local researchers to specialize in this highly relevant path of science.
In collaboration with international organizations, CAGS regularly organizes short courses, mainly aimed at students, researchers, and young professionals from the UAE and the region. These courses host international, regional, and local experts in genetics-related fields as instructors/trainers. CAGS courses have been found very valuable in enabling knowledge transfer and enhancing the participants’ expertise in both the clinic and the lab.
